DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS

Department of Physics with B.Sc Physics course was started in 2012 - 2013. The first batch had 13 students. Presently, 35 students are studying in each year. M.Sc Physics course was started in 2015 - 2016 with 13 students. The laboratory facilities are adequate and special emphasis is given for doing research in Nano Materials, which has wide range of applications. Each year, physics Association function is celebrated for which faculty members who are also researches come from various colleges and give lectures.

Achievements in 2015 - 2016

1. Mr. R. Ramanathan, head, department of Physics has published 5 papers in International journals.
2. Dr.V.Senthilnathan and Mrs. N. Suganthi have presented papers in International Conference on Nano Materials and frontier applications held at coimbatore Institute of Technology from 2nd December and 4th December 2015. Mrs. N. Suganthi participated in the workshop “Material Science and Engineering” Conducted by Thiyagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai from March 9thto 11th 2016.
3. V. Suguna of III B.Sc., got Ist prize in 100 mts running.
4. V. Vinoth of III B.Sc., got 2nd Prize in 100 mts of 200 mts running.
5. V.Nicely Karunya of III B.Sc., has been selected as selected as student election ambassador. She has also won several prizes in oration competitions.
